Garage clearance on the Isle of Wight, back to an empty floor

The garage that hasn't seen a car in fifteen years. We empty it, sort what can be reused or recycled, flag anything that needs to go elsewhere, and sweep the floor.

What's included

From the boxes at the front to the freezer at the back

Garages fill slowly and from the back. We clear the lot in one visit.

  • Stored furniture and boxes

Things from the last house, and the boxes nobody has opened since.

  • Dead fridges and freezers

Sent for specialist recycling because of the gases inside.

  • Scrap, tools and racking

Metal goes to licensed recycling. We take down bolted shelving and workbenches.

  • DIY leftovers

Timber, old doors, carpet, tiles and the half-built kitchen units.

  • Bikes, prams and mowers

Usable ones set aside for reuse, the rest recycled.

  • Swept floor

Ready for a car, a buyer or a demolition crew.

Who we help

Why people clear the garage

Emptied in four steps

  1. 1

    Photos and a price

One from the door and one from the back is usually enough.

  2. 2

    Mark what stays

A sticky note, or move it to one side before we arrive.

  3. 3

    Out, sorted, loaded

Reuse, recycling and disposal separated as we carry it out.

  4. 4

    Swept floor

Awkward items like paint left aside for you, with advice on where they go.

Priced on what's in there

Not a flat rate. Photos are usually enough to give you a fixed price.

  1. 01VolumeA few items at the back, or a double garage packed to the roof.
  2. 02WeightTiles, cement bags, hardcore and scrap add up quickly.
  3. 03Items with their own chargesFridges, freezers, sofas and mattresses cost more to dispose of.
  4. 04Access and dismantlingRacking bolted to walls, or a garage down a long drive.

A fixed price before we start

What we can't take

  • Asbestos, including roof sheets
  • Gas bottles
  • Paint, solvents and chemicals
  • Fuel, engine oil and car batteries

Both recycling centres take paint, oil, batteries and gas bottles from residents. Cement-sheet roof? We can usually clear the contents without touching it; see our hazardous waste guide.

FAQ

Garage clearance questions

Short answers. If yours is not here, call or send it with your quote.

How long does a garage clearance take?

It depends on how full it is and how heavy the contents are. We tell you how long it will take when we price it.

Do I need to sort it before you come?

No. We sort it as we load. Mark anything you want to keep, and point out anything you're unsure about.

Can you take the old paint tins?

No. Paint, solvents and chemicals go to the recycling centres at Lynnbottom or Afton Marsh, which take them from residents with a booked slot. We leave them to one side for you.

Do you take scrap metal?

Yes. Old tools, bikes, shelving and metal offcuts go to licensed metal recycling. Nobody should be paying cash for scrap, so be wary of anyone offering to.

My garage roof might be asbestos. Can you still clear it?

Usually, as long as the sheets are intact and we aren't disturbing them. Tell us when you book so we can look first. We don't remove the sheets themselves.

Can you take the garage down as well?

Yes, as a separate job. Our garage demolition service covers sectional and prefab garages, and we can clear the contents first in the same booking.

A few quick questions and a photo or two is usually all it takes to give you a firm price. Or pick up the phone and talk to us.
