Priced on your shed, not a size chart

The slow part is rarely the dismantling. It's carrying everything out.

  2. 02ContentsEmpty, or still full of tools and junk.
  3. 03The baseLeft, slabs lifted, or a concrete base broken out. A sack of rubble weighs 35 to 45 kg.

Has to be dealt with first

  • Asbestos cement roof or wall sheets
  • Live electrics
  • Paint, chemicals and fuel
  • Gas bottles

Grey, rigid corrugated sheets? Treat them as possible asbestos cement until tested; send a close-up of a sheet edge and we'll say if it needs testing. Paint, chemicals and gas bottles can go to either tip. See our hazardous waste guide.

FAQ

Shed removal questions

Short answers. If yours is not here, call or send it with your quote.

How long does it take to take down a shed?

A standard timber garden shed is usually a matter of hours, including loading. Big summerhouses, concrete bases and long carries add time. We'll give you an idea when we quote.

Do I need to be there?

Not necessarily. If we can get into the garden, the contents are all going or already out, and the electrics are disconnected, we can do it while you're out.

Can you remove the concrete base?

Yes, by arrangement. Breaking out a slab is heavy work and adds rubble, so it's priced on top. Leaving it is cheaper if a new shed is going on the same spot.

My shed has electricity. What do I do?

Have a qualified electrician disconnect and make safe the supply before we arrive. We won't dismantle a structure with live wiring in it.

Can I just burn the old timber?

Painted and treated timber, felt and plastics give off harmful smoke and can be a nuisance to neighbours. Taking it away as wood waste is safer, and it's in our price.

What if the roof is asbestos?

We don't remove or carry asbestos. Get the sheets tested, then have them removed by a specialist or, for small amounts from a home, taken to Lynnbottom under the council permit. Then we take down the rest.
