What's included
Down, sorted and gone in one job
If it's free-standing, a garden structure or the fittings inside a room, it's probably in scope.
Sheds and summerhouses
Timber, metal and plastic sheds, log cabins and garden offices.
Prefab garages
Sectional concrete and metal garages, once the roof has been checked.
Greenhouses
Glass taken out and wrapped before the frame comes down.
Decking, pergolas and fencing
Concrete post footings are extra work, so tell us about them.
Kitchen and bathroom strip-outs
Once your plumber, gas engineer or electrician has isolated the services.
Sorted as we dismantle
Timber, metal, glass and rubble kept apart. Rubble costs far less to dispose of.
Popular jobs
What people ask us to take down
A rotten shed
Panels, roof and floor out of the garden, base too if you want.
An old garage
Panel by panel, after any asbestos cement roof has been dealt with.
A room strip-out
Old kitchen or bathroom out, ready for the fitters.
Old windows and doors
Collected once they're out of the wall, with the rest of the refit waste.
Gone in four steps
- 1
Photos and a description
Size, materials, any base, and the route from the road.
- 2
Checks and a price
We flag what must happen first, such as electrics or an asbestos test, and fix the price.
- 3
Dismantle and sort
By hand, panel by panel, with each material kept apart.
- 4
Clear and sweep
Everything to licensed facilities, the ground swept or raked level.
Priced on the structure in front of us
Photos are usually enough to quote without a visit.
- 01Size and constructionA timber shed comes apart quickly. Concrete panels, brick and glass take longer and weigh more.
- 02The baseLeaving the slab is quicker. Breaking out concrete adds time and heavy waste.
- 03AccessA clear run from the drive, or a carry through the house and down steps.
- 04Contents and extrasClearing it first, fencing or decking alongside, or a garden tidy afterwards.
A fixed price before we start
- Free, no-obligation quote
- Priced from photos or a visit
- Price agreed before anything is booked
Your options
Do it yourself, hire a skip, or book it
Taking a shed down yourself is very doable. Getting rid of it is where it gets awkward.

What isn't light demolition
- Load-bearing walls
- Extensions and attached buildings
- Anything needing heavy plant
- Asbestos
- Live electrics, water or gas
Structural work needs a builder and often a structural engineer. Asbestos must be checked and dealt with first; see our hazardous waste guide.

FAQ
Light demolition questions
Short answers. If yours is not here, call or send it with your quote.
Do I need planning permission to take down a shed or garage?
Usually not for a detached outbuilding at a house. If the property is listed or in a conservation area, or the structure is shared, check with the Isle of Wight Council planning team first.
Do you use heavy machinery?
No. Light demolition is done by hand and with power tools, which is why it suits back gardens and tight access. Anything needing an excavator is a job for a demolition contractor.
Can you remove the concrete base too?
Often, by arrangement. Breaking out a slab adds time and weight, so tell us whether you want it gone, left, or broken up for a new base.
What if the roof is asbestos?
We don't remove or carry asbestos. It needs testing and specialist handling first. Once it has gone, we take down the rest and clear the site.
Do I need to empty it first?
No. We can clear the contents and take down the structure in the same visit, priced as one job. Tell us about anything you want to keep.
Will you disconnect the electrics?
No. A qualified electrician must do that before we start. The same goes for water and gas on a kitchen or bathroom strip-out.
